Taste Contemporary is proud to present Dialogues - a solo exhibition of work by leading British ceramic artist, Alison Britton. A pivotal figure in postmodern ceramics, her work is included in numerous national museums and important private collections worldwide.
For Dialogues, Britton has created a number of new works that include playful vessel forms. Alun Graves has said that her pots are ‘marked by ambiguity and contradiction, sitting between the sculptural and the everyday.’ Works such as Chorus, with two dramatic handles that can also be identified as spouts, is a reminder of this ambiguity. The show also features a number of wall pieces, such as Swamp and its companion piece Crater as well as Flotsam, whose broad confident strokes of blue and terracotta are testament to an artist at the height of her power.
